Wheel of Fortune
Eric Machan Howd

far above me
crows form circles
within circles
wings spread wide
waiting for me
to make a move

I place a silver bead
from my love’s chest
on the grass beside me
and wait for them
to change shape
from circle to diamond

black diamond
clear blue sky

another gift
entrusted to me
