Small Dyads
Frankie Konieczki

communities of nobodies
recover in small dyads
sponsor and sponsee relationships,
not couples, i speak of
friendly triads, quads and more share fellowship
from living lives of shame
lives of trying our bests to die
and sometimes i am just going through
mechanics of wanting to be sober with no desire
and i feel like i am taking a seat away from a devout member
but we’re always growing
in a pattern that looks like elongated breathing
and we’re happy to reach capacity and start a new meeting of nobodies

Frankie Konieczki is a white, non-binary, part-time poet who calls Ypsilanti, Michigan their hometown. They have no formal education in poetry; however, they have been writing semi-autobiographical poetry about family, love, gender, and mental health since their parents helped them win a talent contest with their writing, at the age of nine years old. They have been published in Asylum Magazine and look forward to sharing their struggles, successes, and small wonders through poetry with more readers through publication.
