Poem 1
summer to autumn rituals
I’m in love with this in-between
nature world most robust
I, at my brownest
top form, toned, pulsing
Listening and moody
leaving tanager’s clear call
joining crow’s caw caw
dusting, purging, cleansing
Nesting hard, hard, hard, until soft
this is where I’d like most to be
loved by love,
Reunited

Eva Barinas is a childless cat lady with no cat and many science-enthralled students in her wake. She spent the better part of her childhood following her parents in search of the American dream. When that dream finally died, Eva found herself writing by the seashore and riding horses with her whole heart.
